This Privacy Policy refers to the processing of personal data collected by the Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia (UATUC) through petitions and surveys on the website akcije.sssh.hr.
We process personal data in accordance with the applicable European and Croatian legal framework, including the General Data Protection Regulation.

We collect your data primarily when you share it with us by signing a petition, completing a survey or in another way (for example, when you sign up for our newsletter via a web form or contact us by e-mail). 
When you sign petitions or complete surveys, you decide for yourself what information you want to share with us. Signing a petition usually requires contact information such as your name and surname, e-mail address and the city and county you come from. 

In certain cases, depending on the purpose and character of the petition, we may ask you optionally to share with us information related to your trade union membership. We treat such information with special care in accordance with Article 9 of the General Data Protection Regulation, which means that we count on your express consent to process that data in return for our assurance that we will not forward it to the petition addressee or to any other third party. 

UATUC petitions are a tool with which we strive to give voice to workers in Croatia and promote their labour rights. 

By participating in a petition, you give the UATUC permission to process your personal data and forward it to the petition’s sponsor for the purpose specified in the information about the petition. We process your data on the basis of your express consent and as part of trade unions’ legitimate interest in operating (under the rules on freedom of assembly and association). If you have given your consent, we can also use your data to inform you about progress on the petition you have signed and other actions launched on the akcije.sssh.hr website. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, you can withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data at any time.

In situations where we are required to do so for technical reasons, we provide access to your personal data to third parties only when it is absolutely necessary, and we make sure that everyone who has access to this data respects the applicable legal framework and this Privacy Policy, and that they apply strict security standards. This applies to IT and telecommunications service providers, such as website developers, web hosting providers and newsletter platforms.

Some of your personal data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, the UATUC cooperates only with the providers of external services whose operations comply with the European legal framework for the protection of personal data and whose service contracts include the necessary provisions on personal data protection and on compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

To protect your data, we apply various administrative, technical and organisational measures and procedures including the appointment of authorised persons to access protection measures and conclude contracts with third parties who may have access to the data. 

We keep the personal data collected through petitions and surveys for two years or until the end of the period necessary to achieve the purpose indicated in this Privacy Policy. 

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you a number of rights in relation to your personal data (Art. 15-18, 20-21).
